About

Hi there. Welcome to “Mostly Domesticated”.  This is my attempt to chronicle my life of raising 2 kids, a husband, a dog, and a hamster. Children are basically wild animals, and we are the trainers. Aren’t husbands pretty much the same thing? I mean, what the hell did my husband do for the first 31 years of his life before he met me? How did he survive? How did he get from point A to point B? The thought frightens me. I’m here to do my job – make sure these guys are mostly human before I deliver them to society. And by “mostly human” I mean, very simply, less closer to a dog and much closer to a human. I thank God my husband is hilarious, because laughter is EVERYTHING. He makes this whole adventure of life just about the best it can be. As for my kids…Erin “the Honey Badger” is 3. She is definitely still a wild animal. Dylan is 10, and as I tell him every night, “If I could make a mold of the perfect kid, it would be YOU.” (Of course, he’s not perfect, but he’s AWESOME.  AND, he got a hell of a lot less air time on Facebook because he’s 10 and didn’t care for me sharing things about him “online”, hence the Honey Badger popularity.) Although he repeats this back to me verbatim with a yawn, I am proud of him. He’s more like a human and less like a dog every day! WIN!
